SHORT CRUISE ABOARD THE USS BLUEBACK
The Blueback SS-581 Division of the US Naval Sea Cadets hosted our unit aboard their submarine for an overnight short cruise
The Blueback was commissioned in 1959, in servive in 1960, and decommissioned in 1990. Blueback is now in Portland at OMSI, and acts as a training platform the the Sea Cadets, a museum and Exhibit for the public, and a Sub Vet Memorial.

Officer of the Deck, Prepare to Dive....

Prep the line handlers and pull into port

Cadets took advantage of a "Port Visit" and went ashore to see a live brodcast of KOIN Channel 6 News from the OMSI Weather Lab. They hoped to get a camera scan, but settled for a verbal mention of their presence by Jim Little, Channel 6 Weather Anchor.
