SHORT CRUISE
ABOARD THE USS BLUEBACK
|

The Blueback
SS-581 Division of the US Naval Sea Cadets hosted
our unit aboard their submarine for an overnight short
cruise
|
|
The Blueback was commissioned in 1959, in servive in
1960, and decommissioned in 1990. Blueback is now in
Portland at OMSI, and acts as a training platform the the
Sea Cadets, a museum and Exhibit for the public, and a Sub
Vet Memorial.

|
The combined crew of Blueback Cadets staffing the

Cadets took advantage of a "Port Visit" and went
ashore to see a live brodcast of KOIN Channel 6 News from
the OMSI Weather Lab. They hoped to get a camera scan, but
settled for a verbal mention of their presence by Jim
Little, Channel 6 Weather Anchor.
