| St. LCW Volume 14: 1st Taping Results Reported by Jim Boz This week, the second taping of Volume Fourteen, was all about one match the Royal Rumble. The rules of this gruelling contest are simple, every member of St.LCW was entered into the Royal Rumble, each of these competitors had drawn a number which determined when they would enter the match. For example, numbers one and two would start the match with competitors entering every two minutes thereafter. In order for someone to be eliminated from the Rumble they must be thrown over the top and both of their feet must touch the floor. The winner of this particular Royal Rumble will get a shot at the World title. However, if Hornblower wins the Rumble then he will get to choose his own opponent for a title defence. With that in mind, let me now take you to the action! The atmosphere in the St.LCW arena could have been cut with a knife as all of the fans waited to see who had drawn number one in the Royal Rumble and, much to everyones surprise, we soon found out that The masked avenger had drawn that fateful number. With The masked avenger now in the ring waiting for the person who had drawn number two, we were shocked once again as Doctor Simon Griffiths entrance music sounded out. On this note, Doctor Simon Griffiths left his position in the commentary booth and made his way into the ring. The bell then sounded and the Rumble began, immediately, The avenger attempted to go on the offence but his shots were so weak that they didnt even faze the Doctor. Furthermore, Simon was even able catch one of The masked avengers attempted punches. Once Doctor Simon had a hold of the masked man, he was able to spin him around and dump him out of the ring. The masked avenger had been eliminated, thus leaving Griffiths to await the arrival of the next contestant. Doctor Griffiths didnt have to wait long as the remaining seconds on the clock soon ticked away and Ref Chris made his way to the ring (thats right! Even the referees had entered the Royal Rumble!). In order to gain the advantage, Doctor not only asked Ref Chris to shake his hand, he also offered him a cuddly toy. Suckered in by this tactic, Ref Chris offered his hand, only to be nailed by a kick to the gut from his supposed medical friend. The cuddly toy was then quickly disposed of as Simon Griffiths went on the offence, nailing Chris with a body slam and a chicken splash from the top. Simon then attempted to push the Ref out but Chris was able to prevent his impending elimination by delivering a low blow to Simon. With the GP now feeling a bit worse for wear, the Ref was able to land a DDT. On this note, the next participant (Ref Dan) made his way out to the ring. After the referees briefly double-teamed the now fallen Griffiths, Ref Dan proceeded to push Ref Chris down. This gave Doctor the chance to not only get back to his feet but also to nail Ref Dan with a clothesline. Thinking that this had put pay to Ref Dan, Simon turned his back on his opponents and began to celebrate with the crowd. However, much to the quacks chagrin, Dan nipped up, waited for Griffiths to turn around and then nailed him with a super kick. The impact of this blow sent Doc flying over the top and crashing to the arena floor, Doctor Simon Griffiths had been eliminated. His dreams of a World title shot crushed, Simon returned to the commentary booth and left the officials to battle it out in the ring. The highlight of this battle of the referees came when Chris nailed Ref Dan with a picture perfect hurricarana. Nonetheless, before this titanic struggle for refereeing pride could go any further, Sid Justice made his entrance as the next participant entering the Rumble. Straight away, Ref Chris attempted to get Sid Justice over the top but the small guy was soon pushed away. Dan then tried his luck at getting Sid over the top but, just like Ref Chris before him, Ref Dan was also tossed across the ring by Justice. Chris was then slammed on a table and almost eliminated by Sid before Dan made the save. At this point, Ref Chris and Ref Dan began to nail Sid with simultaneous shots, this official attack was soon broken up however as Justice grabbed both referees by the throat and then pushed them back towards a table in the hope of getting rid of both of them together. However, the refs managed to prevent their elimination by nailing Justice with kicks to the stomach and then a double clothesline. A desperate Sid then felled both referees with low blows but, whilst Justice was stopping away on the now fallen Chris, Natasha Rider entered the Royal Rumble and immediately nailed Sid from behind. This shot only served to get Sids attention however, thus a displeased looking Justice turned around and then laid out Natasha Rider with a big back breaker. By this time, the previously hurt Ref Chris was back to his feet and thus he began to nail Justice with some stinging left hands. These shots failed to knock Sid down however, in fact, Justice merely brushed the blows aside and grabbed Chris around the neck in preparation for a choke slam. Nevertheless, when Sid attempted to hoist Chris into the air, the Ref was able to slip out of Sids grasp. Justice then swung for Chris but the Ref ducked and then began to celebrate to the fans. This act of self-indulgence proved to be premature however, because when Ref Chris turned around he was met by Sids fist. This straight right hand from Sid knocked Chris over the top and thus out of the Rumble, Ref Chris had been eliminated. Justice could not celebrate his success for long however, because as soon as Justice had got rid of one official, the other one (Dan) nailed him with an impressive atomic drop. By this point, two more minutes had elapse and therefore the next participant (Mimmickmaster) made his entrance. Upon entering the Royal Rumble, Mimmickmaster was taken aback as he found himself being thrown across the ring by his hair courtesy of Natasha. Soon after this, the in ring participants were joined by Cardinal Yeomans. After initially focusing his attack on Sid, Cardinal Yeomans soon switched his attentions to the easier pickings of Ref Dan, whom he nailed with a crushing leg drop. The stream of Cardinal offence then found its way to Rider, who felt the wrath of a both an inverted atomic drop and also a DDT. Next |
