This became evident when Moriarty won the World Title at Lost Souls. In his match against Thanatos, he attempted an 'Edgecrusher' off the table and through a board (we had not seen Moriarty partaking in such risky manoevours for at least five volumes). The reason that Moriarty attempted such a move is obvious - it was his biggest match in St. LCW for over a year and a half. Now firmly in the position of World Champion, Moriarty's wrestling journey will be met with similar sacrifices. Whether Moriarty is defending his title against Boden or Penny Lover, he must face the anxiety of making each of his matches worthy of being called a "World title match."

Whilst on the topic of potential opponents for Moriarty, we must not overlook Hornblower. The problem with this match up is not that it would not entertain the fans; there would be a fine exchange of moves, reversals and psychology within the match up. The burden, however, would be to maintain a feud with crisp promos and a running dialogue that maximizes both the strengths of Moriarty and of Hornblower. The problem is unless the promos have a consistent dialogue that entices fans to follow this feud there would be a danger that the match would significantly overshadow the angle.

For it must be remembered that now Moriarty is World champion he must maintain audience interest through intervies and promos. This could present itself as a strain to a man who has based his St. LCW character thus far on silence. But, should we not ask ourselves, is Moriarty faced with a burden or an opportunity? He now has the chance to elevate the standards that are set for himself and others within the company. Take Thanatos for example. He maintained a very successful run as champion. Thanatos did this in a combination of ways - he continued to have stella matches, he built his character on the mic and developed his 'relationship' with Winnie Nobbe. Moriarty has the ability to enjoya similarly successful reign as champion, and furthermore, Moriarty has the potential to take the World title to places it has never been before. Thus, some St. LCW wrestlers would kill their own mothers for a chance to experience the burdens of Moriarty.
