![]() The sky is heavy and dark in this land of desert mountain and sand As the rain starts to fall-no mercy at all It soaks and it chills all the valleys and hills Filling rivers and streams that wash away dreams Eroding the land. It's easy- It's sand. Paying no mind to the path left behind Bring back the sun! Mother Nature, you've won. As if making amends- a rainbow she sends. And we look to the sky for a moment and sigh In a month we'll be baking and burning and quaking In this wonderful land- desert- mountain and sand. Inspired by a particularly heavy rainfall one year A poem by my brother Stuart Roach. THE WORLD IS UPSIDE DOWN IT'S SLOWLY GETTING GRIMMER THE FAT ARE FED, WHILE THE STARVING GET THINNER THE WORLD IS BACK TO FRONT IT'S SURELY GETTING BLEAKER THE FIT ARE RESTED, WHILE THE TIRED GET WEAKER THE WORLD'S THE WRONG WAY ROUND WE'RE ALL BECOMING SLYER THE QUENCHED GET WATER, WHILE THE THIRSTY GET DRYER I HOPE THE WORLD WILL CHANGE IT MUST START GETTING BETTER THE CHAUFFEURED WILL HAVE TO WALK AND THE CRAWLERS....................... WILL GET A LAMBRETTA !
WINTER'S WOLF. Snow, snow stay a while Your presence makes the children smile Oh, winters wolf dressed like a lamb You settle in silence, cloaking the land. Your nip and your chill are a small price to pay For the joy that you bring us, at least for today. So stay for a while, settle in for the night Weve plenty warm clothes so well be alright And then when youre gone, all melted away Well wait for the next time you come out to play. Inspired by my son Craig, who at age 13, having been uprooted from California ********************************
Wake me with kisses- so sweet on my lips That tell me you want me- with each gentle sip So softly awake me- to capture a glimpse For surely you are- My fairytale prince. Inspired by love xxxxxxxxxxxxxx When next you're feeling, like cursin' and swearin' You're pissed off and frazzled-but mostly-past carin' Try making light-finding humor instead. 'Cause things could be worse-at least you're not dead! Fairly uninspired! ****************
Today was gray and damp. The outside world seemed to flow Through my body as if I wasnt there at all. The misty rain became my tears And the swirling fog swept my spirit away. I didnt even try to stop it. It will return, as it always does. But for now, I am empty inside. Inspired by sadness <><><><><><><> We might ask of the pleasure would I do it again? If the answer is yes, then the future is bright. If the answer is no, theres no future in sight. <><><><><><><> To shine I am a diamond. A rough diamond with flaws, but a diamond nonetheless . And, if only another diamond can cut and shape me, then life too is a diamond. Since the day I was born, till the day I die, lifes experiences cut and shape me. Make me- multi-facetted. Enhancing my beauty from within. To shine and sparkle, reflecting back the beauty of lifes light. We are all diamonds, gloriously unique. Each reflecting their light back to the world. No matter the depth of the cut from life's experience. It brings yet another reason to shine. Inspired by hope. <><><><><><><>
