City Hall, Baia-Mare Baia-Mare is a small city in northern side of Romania. It has about 150,000 people and is known for its folclor and gold mines. The city is surounded by mountains, nature playing a very important role in day to day life.
Traditional wooden churches Maramures is home to the country's most charming villages and people. This is where ancient folklore and other local traditions were most faithfully preserved. Small churches with characteristically tall bell-towers are but some of the unique features of this intensely proud ancestral culture.
