| Ellen was born on March 5, the second daughter to Edward and Edith Annie (Stow) Cosford near Star City, Saskatchewan. Wilma is seven years older than Ellen, and is married to Elwyn Setter - they live in Kamloops, BC and travel to Yuma, AZ during the winter months. They have four children - Bruce, Blaine, Ross and Janet. Ellen was the "boy" of the family, working alongside her father, helping with the chores. She wasn't afraid to do anything, even making money by selling mouse tails at a penny apiece. She was delighted when she found a nest of them - there was dime all at once! She was driving by age 9, bringing the truck to her father in the fields, and got her licence at age 14. She would later on be the one to teach her four children how to drive, even though Don was the one who gave driving lectures in the Air Force! Ellen went to SAIT in Calgary when she was 17. She worked in a laboratory when she met Don Blair on a blind date. They married within the year of meeting. |
