The Paschal Triduum
"Tear this
    temple
           down
  and in
         three days
  I will
        rebuild it!"

The Lenten Season concludes at sunset of Holy Thursday.  At that moment, the Church enters into the Paschal Triduum.  The Triduum is a three day commemoration of the Passion, Death and Resurrection of Jesus Christ.  In the tradition of the Jewish people, our ancestors in faith, we count the days of the Triduum from sunset to sunset Holy Thursday evening through Easter Sunday evening.  The Triduum is the most sacred time of the Church's year for the Paschal Mystery is at the center of the Church's life.  It moves us from the joy of the institution of the Eucharist to the despair of the Crucifixion to the endless celebration of the Resurrection.
