The Liturgical Year is a cycle in which the Church proclaims the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ "until he comes in glory."

Sundays are the highlight of the Church year.  It is on Sunday that the Church gathers to hear the Word of God and to  celebrate the Eucharist.

The Sunday readings are divided into a series of three cycles, A - B - C.  A cycle begins on the First Sunday of Advent and ends on the Solemnity of Christ the King.

The following links will take you to a reflection on the respective Sundays of the Church year.  I hope you find them useful to your understanding of scripture and to your prayer life.

Liturgical Year and the Lectionary Cycles, please
