Questions
How can I justify the expense?
Labor is the number one expense in window cleaning. If you can cut your labor by
30% a day the Aquaclean system will pay for itself within 30 days of work. We
routinely cut 50% of our labor time on established jobs. We also see a 30%
increase in billed income when the system is in use.
How many jobs can I use this on?
We use it on every job we can, but not all jobs are conducive for its use. Your
usage will increase with experience. We do not use it on small route jobs
because it takes longer to educate the customer than it does to clean the
windows, and they often do not water around the entrances. The Aquaclean system
works on 90% of our 1,2,3, and 4 floor accounts, including residential. Some account's
windows do not dry well because of poor caulking, substrate contamination, over
spray or glass coatings.
Do I have to buy the whole system?
No. You can buy the Aquaclean poles and rent a DI Tank (ionized water tank). A
DI tank will remove 99% of the solids from the water and allow for spot free
rinsing. In fact we use a DI cartridge to finish off the balance of solids after
the water passes through the four pre-filters on the Aquaclean system. The
problem with a large DI tank is that it is cumbersome and requires a water
source on site; they also require frequent re-generation because they remove all
solids at once and the tank is used up quickly; and the re-generation costs can sky
rocket within a year.
What's different about Aquaclean?
Aquaclean incorporates 5 filters that are designed to
remove certain solids at each stage. This is important because without pre
filtering in succession, you will clog the "workhorse" of the system, the R/O
(reverse osmosis) membrane. This membrane filter will remove 92 to 95% of solids
from most water.
How much water will it make?
It will produce about 1.5 gallons a minute. If you start with the unit full it
will out run you during usage.
How long will the filters last?
This will depend on your local PPM (parts per million) of total dissolved solids
in your water system. The average TDS reading in the US is about 200 ppm. At
this reading the 5 micron filter will last 4 months, the KDF filter will last 6
months, the Anti scaling unit will last 1.5 years, the R/O membrane will last 2
years and the DI cartridge will last 3 months. The cost to replace and or clean
these filters will be around $800.00 a year.
