December 2, 2006 - Fall Snowball Alumni Game
The day started out sluggish, everyone was shaking off the events of the night before. Once the game layout was decided the teams took their positions on the pitch (and I use that term loosely) starting out with a game of 7s. The sidelines were made up of extra shoes and bags and our posts were human, so the game was all about having fun. That does not me we did not play hard. The alumnae gained three tries early on to take the lead. Moving quickly to get the ball to the outside and playing switches in the center. The current team, coming off a winning season, did not take this lying down. Scoring three tries to tie the game by the half. But in the end the alumni proved too much for our young ladies; resulting in a 34-15 win for the old girls. After the field was cleared and cars were packed the days events moved us down to Dapps. The spirits of the cold spectators seemed to rise when they were handed a pint. It was only a matter of time before the games of flip cup started.
June 11, 2006 - SCWRFC Alumni's First Tournament Showing
June 10, 2006 was SCWRFC Alumni's first tournament showing at the JoJo Moore Tournament in Peekskill, NY. With the Hudson Valley Women's Rugby Club being the only other women's team in attendance, all three games of the day were scheduled against them. Our first game was played with the teams largely mixed since we only had about 7 Siena players present. Though we lost the first game, we went on to win the second two with a team comprised almost entirely of Siena Alumni players. Siena won the women's division of the tournament and received a plaque that will make a great addition to the rugby house for the fall!
All in all it was a great showing - and hopefully we'll be able to coordinate more in the upcoming year. Special thanks to the Siena players and fans who showed up to lend their support!!

Check out our alumni roster to view the recent graduates and additions to our Siena College Women's Rugby Alumni Team. Good luck ladies!

Fall 08- Snowball game
A cold blustery day made for less than ideal rugby but luckily had no effect on the social gathering. There was a good turn out for this event!!! Thanks to all who attended!.
May 2009 - Alumni Weekend
This event will take place May 1-3 2009.
The Siena College Women's Rugby Football Club is in the process of launching its first ever Women's Rugby Alumni Organization. Though the club was initiated in the late 1970s, and continued into the early 80s, it eventually was unable to maintain enough players to continue competing as a club team. Fast forward to Fall 2002 when members of the men's rugby team decided to resurrect a Siena Women's Rugby team - at a general meeting held in Siena Hall late in the Fall semester, initial interest was so great that seating was overflowing and women were sitting in the aisles.
The 2003 season was dedicated to attending mandatory tournaments required to be eligible for entry into the conference. Fall 2004 marked the SCWRFCs first season in the New York State Rugby Conference in the East Division III. Siena won 4 of their 5 scheduled matches and attended playoffs in Geneva, New York - our first season in the conference!
Now that we have a substantial alumni roster, we are beginning to setup an alumni board as well as beginning to pave the way for future alumni events.
