| 1-30-06 - I had an awesome weekend :-) That's probably all I'll say about that. Nothing spectacular happened except for one thing, and that shall remain to myself (and no, it's nothing bad or anything people would tend to think). Well, I've told a couple people, but I'll probably only tell one or two more. On Saturday afternoon, I bought the game "Apple to Apples," which is the mostest awesomest game ever. So over the past couple nights, I've been reading the quotes at the bottom of the red cards. A couple of them have really cracked me up! One was a card for "Wine Tasting" that said, "Spit or swallow?" Just now, I read one for Puff Daddy that says, "1971- , American rap artist. 'I'll Be Missing You' shot him to stardom. No pun intended." Wow. Just...wow. I almost died a couple times over the weekend. Ok, so maybe that's a lie...but I did almost get in a few wrecks. Luckily, none of them were my fault. The first however many were either the fault of Atif or the oncoming person, going across a one-lane bridge or through a really short one-lane underpass, etc. Wow, tons of fun. The second was caused by some old woman driving the wrong way on a four lane road. It was two lanes, a median, and two more lanes. She must've made a left turn into the direction she was going and just not realized that she had to cross the median, so she was driving in the left lane of the direction I was going (which was the lane I was in) coming right toward me! I swirved out of the way, and my friend behind me did the same thing. The woman just kept driving like it was everyone else's fault, I guess. Oh, well. Those were things that made my weekend adventurous. Woo-hoo! 1-22-06 - I went to Cookeville on Friday and stayed until Saturday afternoon and had a marvelous time. Though I didn't see anywhere near as many people as I'd hoped to see (I called a bunch of people on Friday afternoon and they all said "I'll call you tomorrow," but none of them did), I did talk with some of my really good friends for a while. I spent a few hours with Michelle, Julianne, Lauren, Ashley, and Amanda. People I don't know so well but talked with for a while include Michael and Erin. Jt let me bum a bed in his apartment and we chatted for a while there, too. I hadn't seen him in a while, so that was good and many thanks for the permission to be a moocher. I hate that I kinda cut lunch short with Liz, but it was good to see her, as well. I'm never gonna stop going to Tech. I just know I'm going to keep meeting people and I won't be able to quit hanging out with them. That's just pathetic. Oh, well. Who cares what people think? As long as I'm not annoying the people I'm coming to visit, it's all good, I guess. I know WAY too many people that graduated from Riverdale High School in or around 2004 through Liz and Michelle. I count about 15 people from there that I know. Goodness... I went to Juliana's going-away party last night. I risked my life twice by going into the cat room to sign her card and her book. What a rush! *rolls eyes* I find that every time I hang out with that group, I like the people more and more and I think they're feeling the same way about me. Yay for friends :-) I think I might've typed this before, but it doesn't hurt to say every once in a while. (And this has been true since I started the "What's going on with me?" pages) Look what happens if you mouse over the picture at the top of this page...scary! 1-14-06 - I've been kinda sick for the past couple of days, but I think I might be getting over it. I've been feeling pretty good since about 9:30 last night, so I think it's definite improvement. Sleeping for 9 1/2 hours probably helped some, as well. Season 5 of 24 starts tomorrow and I am insanely excited about it! So far, it seems that my What Song That Is? game is getting a decent response from people. I really hope that it will continue to be popular and that other people will join in and start playing. I actually added some people to the picture rotation on my home page. I know! I'm surprised, too! One picture was replaced with a better one and then seven more people were added. It seems like there was one more thing that I was gonna say in this, but I don't remember what it is. Either way, I'm about to see some friends in a little over an hour, so I'd best make myself all nice and all that. And I remember what the other thing I was going to say is: I was planning on making a page that would display some of my writings from over the past couple years (rants, silliness, etc). There are only maybe six of them. Well, I just read a couple of them and they are obscenely stupid. Seriously. If I ever made you read those things, then I apologize. I'm somewhat ashamed that I even wrote them. Anyway, I have two left to read and when I get out of the shower, I'll look at them and think about posting them. 1-10-06 - Alright. I have a new game called What Song That Is? Go play! It'll be fun, I promise! So when I got to work today, I filled my measuring cup with water and put it in the microwave to make tea, like every day. I almost always stay with it, and when I do leave it I'm usually back within a few seconds. Today, after I put the water in the microwave, I realized that I still had my jacket on, so I made the very short trip back to my cubicle to put it on my chair. I immediately left to go back to watch my water collect energy. As I get out into the hall, I saw some woman pull a small coffee mug out of the microwave and book it down the intersecting hall. I figured that maybe she threw hers in with mine for a very short period of time and then pulled it out, for whatever reason. As soon as she was out of sight, I realized that she didn't push start to keep mine going. When I got to the microwave, I saw that my cup was sitting on top of it. What the heck? I'm gone for seriously no more than 15 seconds and this happens. So I put it back in there, and I just stand there kinda pissed off. She comes back by, headed toward me, and sees me standing there looking at the microwave. She asked if it was my water that she took out of the microwave and I said it was. She smiled and said she was sorry and I kinda chuckled and said that it wasn't a big deal. I really wanted to run up to her and tackle her, but I'm not trying to make any enemies, so I just took it in stride. Later today, I went to take some papers to this other woman that sits relatively close to me. We met once a few months ago. A couple months after that, I was waiting on some drawings to print when this same woman walked in the room. She must not have remembered our brief first meeting, so she introduced herself and I said, "Yeah, I think we met a couple months ago," using "think" to be polite, as it wasn't a memorable event. So while in the printer room, we talked for a few minutes. The printer thing was a month and half ago, probably. When I walked into her office to deliver the papers today, she asked if I was the guy Jim said was gonna be coming by with drawings. I said I was and then she introduced herself. I probably came off like a jerk, but I just kinda ignored her introduction. Maybe she'll remember me if I'm a bit of a jerk :-) |
