More About Our Book Club:

CLUB RULES
    Dropping Off - You will
not be allowed to drop off your child for this meeting unless I have a permission form on file.  I have forms to cover the entire school year for you.
Behavior -  We will follow the same behavior requirements as REACH.  Warning - Parent Involvement - Suspension - Expulsion.  One person at a time talks and the volume level stays reasonable!
Attendance - We require the children attend each month.  If a vacation is planned, or a medical situation arises, please let us know as soon as possible.  These, of course, are excused absences.   Forgetting about the meeting or not coming because you didnt read the book is an unexcused absence - as is being suspended.  Three unexcused absences in the year opens your membership position to the next person on the waiting list.
    There will be
NO MEETINGS IN JUNE, JULY AND AUGUST.
Not reading the book that was selected for the month is counted as an unexcused absence.
Book Choices - Parents, please help direct your children to choose books that are available in paperback to make them affordable.  OR - plenty of copies available at the library.  Make sure, too, that they are challenging (good Internet site:
www.bookadventure.com it sorts by grade and topic or www.allreaders.com).   There are lists of our previously read books below.
Make sure the Reader has written his/her questions down to share with the group.
Meals - We are meeting at lunch time so the children can socialize over lunch.  Please bring a sack lunch.  If your child does not wish to eat, please at least bring a beverage or purchase one from the meeting venue if we are not meeting in a private home.
Once we draw for month assignments, you cannot switch with another person! :)
If a member leaves - their replacement takes their month.

MEETING FORMAT
Noon - Meet and Eat Lunch
12:35 - Book Discussion led by person whose month it is.
    Genre, title, author
Everyone brings written 3-5 trivia-type questions.  (Include hints, page numbers, etc. in case we get stuck)
Mrs. Camacho will introduce some literature discussion to the group, if at all possible.
1:20 - Next months three book choices and their descriptions presented and voted on
