| We're going to devote much of our year this year to learning to stay on task, and realizing the consequences of our actions (or inactions). Keeping to our schedule and accountability will be two more lessons we will assimilate this year. We will re-evaluate our grade level work in January 2007. Bible: Switched-on Schoolhouse Overview: Prayer (organizaton of the Lord's Prayer, purpose of the Lord's Prayer, history of the Lord's Prayer, practical use of prayer) Sin and Salvation (the nature of sin, the need for salvation, how to receive salvation, the results of salvation) Attributes of God (God's justice, God's immutability, God's eternal nature, God's love) Early Church Leaders (the early church, the church of the Middle ages, the Renaissance, the Reformation) Early Church History (the Roman Empire, the background of the Jews, the ministry of Jesus, the Jerusalem church) The Early Churches (the church at Antioch, the missionary journeys, the Jerusalem Conference, New Testament churches) The Book of Proverbs (literary forms and outline, objectives and purposes, influence on the New Testament, key themes. Today's Problems (guidance for behavior, characteristics of friendship, studying effectively, finding God's will) Understanding Parents (human parents, biblical parents, children's responsibility, parents and children as a team) Walking with God (prayer and salvation, the attributes of God, the early church leaders, Christian living) Math: Systematic Mathmatics English: Pre-English Omnibus at the Midlands Home School Resource Center. Taught by: Page Fletcher. Using Greek, Roman, and Old Testament history, students will "kill 5 birds" with one academic stone. Pre-English Omnibus will integrate literature, history, grammar, writing, and vocabulary. The grammar portion of this course will be Shurley style and the writing will be that of Institute for Excellence in Writing.
