Bio. of SCROG

"Lets start a band"

And with that the beginnings of SCROG were born. Two guys with nothing to do but waste time in a basement making noise. Elliot banging on the drums and Chip strumming the guitar. Slowly making there way towards actually being able to call it music. Wanting to be a punk/hardcore band the boys decided they needed a "hard" band name.  E.B.S.T.R. (pronounced-Ebster) was it. Standing for-Energy Breaking Societies enTraping Rules. The name was interesting enough but it didn't seem to fit so the two went back to the land of namelessness. Then a name came to Chip in a dream. FlameBoyX. It was weird and random and sounded cool. But then the coolness of the name kind of faded and they decided to drop it. Again, a no name band. Then it was determined that to truly be a band they needed a bass player and a singer.

Luckily for them they killed two birds with one stone. The two open positions were "filled" by Eli. Eli was told to buy a bass guitar and to start singing. Having nothing better to do he willingly took the job. This really opened the door to creating songs and really brought out what SCROG was all about. Girls, parties, High School life, the shitty town they live in and all things you deal with as a teenager. After working on playing together and making nasty songs they decided that they really needed a name now. Inspired by chemistry they chose Volatile. They played some shows and it was all coming together. However, they realized that the music they were playing and the name they had didn't really work together. They couldn't quite fill the "punk rock/hardcore music" shoes that were created by a name such as Volatile. Also, there was a Canadian heavy metal band with that name that would have easily kicked the shit out of them and taken the name. So, making the smart decision they found themselves without a name again. More music and more songs later they stumbled upon SCROG. They believed they had created the word themselves but found out that many people believed it was a synonym for sex. Finding the reaction of elders and other people very amusing they decided this was the name to keep. SCROG was exactly what they needed to be able to express all their teenage angst about girls, life and maturity to the world.

Now after all there hard work and intense show schedule they have become known for lives performances that are loaded with energy, vulgar disgusting language, and brutal circle pits. During each show the members become like men possessed and use their instrument and bodies to connect with the crowd in new and imaginative ways. Having turned themselves into perfect music making machines these boys are unstoppable. Eli with the voice of an angle, Chip with guitar licks that haven't been heard since hair metal and Elliot with incomparable speed and skill on the drums never missing a beat. A live SCROG show is an experience that will truly never be forgotten!

Now that you're all caught up you can easily say you know SCROG! Come and have some fun sometime!
