Karen Greenych (19) - First Year Law Student - The only survivor of the 1998 Hargreeves slayings, Karen has only recently recovered from the trauma. Her mother Maureen died of cancer some years before and has taken the secrets of what happened in 1969 with her to the grave whilst her father is currently on holiday in the French Alps, forcing Karen to remain at the campus over the holidays. Karen is now strong in both mind and will, determined to put the ghost of Jeremiah Hargreeves behind her.... Or is she?
Blake Carrington (20) - First Year Sports Student - As Karen's new boyfriend, he has struggled over the months to get close to her and is now finally gaining her trust. Hailing from New York, Blake is hoping to realise his ambitions as a world class football player. With golden blonde hair, a tanned muscular build and sparkling blue eyes, Blake is popular amongst the female students although there are rumours that he has an explosive temper. He has chosen to remain on campus over the holidays to stay with Karen.
Tanya Bryars (19) - First Year Fashion Student - Karen's roomate Tanya is incredibly conceited and vain. She constantly admires her long blonde hair in the mirror and ensures that she is seen with the "right crowd". A keen follower of fashion, her clothes are elegant and expensive; the best that her rich father can afford. She has recently fallen behind with her work and is remaining on campus to catch up.
Roman Caine (20) - First Year Music Student - A creature of the night, Roman constantly dresses in black clothing and long overcoats. With long black hair, an interest in various heavy metal groups such as Slipknot and a penchant for horror/slasher flicks, Roman is not liked by students such as Tanya and Blake who regard him as "creepy". He is known to play his guitar throughout the night and to regularly smoke marijuana. Has established a strong friendship with Jacob.
Newman Deveroux (19) - First Year Computer Programmes Student - Viewed as a "nerd" by some, Newman is a very bright young man who is able to learn at incredibly fast rates. Fond of dressing in brightly coloured Hawaiian shirts, quoting movies and for spending vast amounts of time hacking into the internet, Newman finds it quite difficult to fit into college life and appears to have a major crush upon Karen. Has spent his entire life in Brooding, where he worked part time at the local Blockbuster video shop. His favourite movie genre is horror.
Tanner McQuire (20) - First Year Media Student - Hard working and incredibly ambitious, Tanner hails from New Jersey and is determined to succeed in the world of journalism. He is incredibly curious and is determined to write a top selling book which will bring him fame. With neatly parted black hair, handsome looks and elegant business suits, he has gained a series of sexual conquests since arriving at the college. His friendship with Karen has caused tension between himself and Blake.
Jacob Forrest (20) - First Year Drama Student - Fun loving party animal with a wild sense of humour who enjoys joking with the other students. With dyed red hair and a penchant for long key chains and baggy denim jeans, Jacob is often seen skateboarding through the corridors of the college. He is known to have a crush on Tanya and spends the majority of his time around Karen's flat. He is in danger of being thrown out of college due to his lack of attendance to lessons and so his parents have forced him to remain on campus over the holidays.
William Sykes (33) - College Security Guard - After spending some time in the Brooding police force, Sykes retired following the Hargreeves murder spree and accepted the job of security guard at Brooding University College where he patrols the campus. Slightly overweight (due to a donut addiction) and with a long black moustache, he appears to be a friendly, comical character who has little investigative abilities and is viewed as completely inept by most of the students on campus. He has become good friends with Karen Greenych. But is he as harmless as he appears?
