More than once the earth may yield its
secrets
As you uncover some long-sought-for wall,
Sharing just a moment of its night,
The labyrinth of sorrow and delight
Eventually entered in by all.
Reason, though, can not bring back the egrets,
Silent in the chill of early fall. |
