Gabriel knows the story. But he
forgets,
At times, the ending. He knows how to ride
Beauty as it breaks across the stones,
Relinquishing the few, sad things he owns;
In his heart, ecstasy replaces pride,
Easing the distinction between in and outside,
Leaving him mad joys and calm regrets. |
