Tobyhanna Excursions
Extended trips to the town of Tobyhanna, Pennsylvania afford passengers about seven more miles of scenery, including sweeping views of several lakes.  These trips were a bargain at $25 dollars and provided from some true level, mainline running.  In 2004, Steamtown will operate approximately 20 of these trips.
Leaving Scranton on October 13th, the 2317 works its way upgrade, passing underneath the former Erie Railroad Jessup Branch trestle.
The extended trips to Tobyhanna pass a restored station in Gouldsboro as seen here on August 17th.
Fall colors abound on October 13th, as the Steamtown special passes one of several lakes on a causeway, a highlight of these trips.
With a full head of steam, the 2317 is viewed pulling into the Tobyhanna train station on the October 13th excursion.
In a classic shot, the 2317 comes to a halt at the restored Tobyhanna train station, the date of July 27, 2003 could easily be forgotten in this scene.
