The Carbondale Main Track, formerly a part of the Delaware & Hudson's Penn Division, played host to a number of excursions operated to various town's along the route. Two of the excursions stopped in Carbondale proper for a town festival. Two other trips operated to Carbondale as well, turning just shot of the city and then stopping at the town of Olyphant for a similar celebration. The photographs below all date from the final trip on August 23, which included a stopover at Olyphant during the 32 mile round trip. Photographs are arranged North to South, from the furthest point away from the Steamtown Yard. |
