SCPEA 2002 RULES

1) Rules will be established each year at a General Membership meeting and mailed to each member in a newsletter before the show season begins. Copies will also be available in the show office upon request. Rules will not carry over from year to year.

2) For any year end high-point award to be given, the following criteria must be met:
A) The SCPEA member must ACTIVELY participate in at least 50% of the SC approved shows during the year.
B) The class had to be held as a State-point class at more than 50% of the SC approved shows - i.e. - if there are 13 shows during the year, the class had to be a point class at 7 or more shows. Weanlings and two-year-old riding classes are exempt.
C) An OPEN/AMATEUR or YOUTH exhibitor must earn a minimum of 10 State points in any class. Weanlings and two-year-old riding classes will be exempt.
D)  In case of a tie, the horse participating in the most shows in that season would be declared the high-point for the year.  If this also results in a tie, the participant with the most first place finishes would be the high point for the year.
E) Each year a number of SCPEA and NCPEA shows will count towards SCPEA year end awards. For 2002, SCPEA will point the following shows: ALL SCPEA shows, and all NCPEA shows held in Arden.
F) Each class high point and reserve will receive an award or monetary prize equal to an amount to be determined each year.
G) The All-Around High Point winners will receive an award or trophy and the title. The Reserve All-Around High Point winners will receive an award of similar but lesser value, than the High-Point. To be eligible for the All-Around High Point titles, the horse must have points in more than one class. All-Around Awards to be given will consist of: Open Halter (all Open halter classes), Performance (includes all Open performance classes), Amateur (all Amateur halter, color and performance classes), Youth 13 - Under (all youth halter, color and performance classes), Youth 14-18 (all youth halter, color and performance classes)

3)  If a horse is gelded during the show season, the points will go with that horse, but the horse will only be eligible for year-end awards as a gelding.
