| Scouts are aged from 10 and a half to 15 years old, male or female. In Scouts you could find yourself operating a radio station, sending coded messages, helping out emergency services, searching for gold, camping in the bush and more!! Scouting gives you the oppitunity to participate in a wide variety of exciting activities. As a Scout you will become a member of a Scout Patrol. You work as a team helping each other. Your patrol will have from 4 to 8 members in it which is led by a Patrol Leader (P.L) & Assistant Patrol Leader (A.P.L). The Patrol leader organises your meetings and takes part in Troop Council meetings with other P.L's. P.L's and A.P.L's have special stripe badges which they wear on their left pocket of their shirt. The P.L has 2 stripes, one either side of the world scouting emblem and the A.P.L has one stripe on the right hand side of the world scouting emblem. P.L Stripes are shown on the uniform below: Several Patrols make up a troop lead by a Scout leader. |
