Pack 444 News Briefs

Pack Meeting
Various Cub Scouts, Cub Scout Leaders, and Parents went camping at the Martin State Forrest (east of Shoals) for their annual "Pack 444 Annual Overnighter) from July 31 to August 1. Also on July 31, the Pack also took a tour of the Blue Springs Caverns. Various Cub Scouts received awards that they have earned from Day Camp and everyone had a good time there.

Cub Day Camp
This years adventure at Camp Little Turtle (Lawrence County Fair Grounds, Bedford) began June 30. At Camp Little Turtle, the Cub Scouts learned many skills, enjoyed many songs and skits, saw many new things (including demonstrations from the local Department of Nautural Resources (DNR) and seeing a law enforcement K-9 (dog) officer at work, and had fun with various games and stuff in general. Unfortunately, the Day Camp ended on July 1.

Pack 444, like other Packs in the district, had about a dozen Cub Scouts and parents attend the festivities at the Camp. Those who were there had fun (and some got wet) as well as learned many new skills.

Special thanks goes to the parents who let their sons enjoy Camp Little Turtle as well as the district and the Camp Directors who put on an excellent camp. Pack 444 will go there next year. Little more info to come.

Tiger Cub Uniform Changing
Effective August 1, 2004, the official Tiger Cub uniform will be the complete blue Cub Scout uniform with identifiable and appropriate Tiger Cub insignia. This change is in line with the program's continuing efforts to promote Tiger Cubs as an integral part of a Cub Scout pack. More information on the uniform changes will be forthcoming.
