About Jackie...(she's so modest, and this was so tough for her, that I had to add my own comments - in italics - pics will be added shortly--scott)

I was born on January 11, 1977, to David and Robin Malone at Mercy Hospital in Altoona, PA. I grew up living in Hollidaysburg, only 45 minutes from State College. I have one younger sister, Jennifer, who is four years younger than I am.(Jackie and Jenny have a great relationship. And, it's great to see it becoming even stronger as they get older)

Some of my fondest memories from childhood center on swimming and picnics at my Gram and Paps house three or four miles from my home. I spent many a day at my Gram and Paps house and count them as one of the greatest influences in my life along with my mom and dad.

I went to the YMCA for preschool, Frankstown Elementary and Blair School for my elementary education. From there, I went to Hollidaysburg Junior and Senior High Schools. I graduated somewhere close to the top of my class (26 of 310 if I remember correctly). In high school, I was in colorguard and was a majorette. As a majorette, our team won several first place trophies in county-wide competitions. (She was fantastic! I've seen home video!)

After high school, I began taking classes at the Altoona Penn State Campus, not knowing what I wanted to be when I grew up but deciding upon Psychology. Prior to college, I had never taken a Psychology class (how is that for foreshadowing?).

After two years there, I moved here to State College to complete school at the main campus. I decided to change my major to Advertising/Public Relations, but decided that, since I was almost done with Psychology, I might as well finish it. So, all in all, my wonderful parents put me through five years of college and I earned two degrees. (she doesn't mention that she graduated with honors! She NEVER fell off of the Dean's List!)

The months following graduation were hardwhat did I really want to do? While in college, I worked for the Logan Valley and Nittany Malls. Even though it was a great experience, I would like to forget the politics involved in that company. After graduating, I tried retail management (Which was an awful mistake, and, to this day, I try my hardest not to buy anything from Things Remembered). I needed to find a job where my skills were respected, and I wasn't treated poorly simply because I was fresh from college.

Then it happened. While in Altoona, I ran across an ad saying that CATA (Centre Area Transportation Authority - State College's local public transportation provider CATA's website) was looking for a Marketing Coordinator. By this time, I came to the realization that, perhaps, Marketing was the field that I was being called to. It really IS a perfect blending of advertising and psychology when you get right down to it. I called Scott, and he took my resume to the CATA office. The rest is history. Now I have the greatest job on earth. Better than I ever would have imagined. And the best boss. And the best co-workers. And, most importantly, respect. Ill stay there as long as theyll have me.

Now, in between me moving to State College and graduating from Penn State, I was fortunate enough to have met my best friend. Scott and I met on my 21st birthday, were friends for a year, and later dated (Click here for the whole story). After less than a year of dating, we were engaged. In two and a half months we will be married. I couldnt have asked for anything more romantic or perfect.

And through him, I have met many of my closest friends (especially Katie, my best friend - you knew that, Katcha!), Anne, Sue, Kim, Rockey, Vicki, and everyone else! If you are reading this, you have probably received an invitation to our wedding, and it is because you are such good friends to us. Thank you for your love and support over the last three years. Friends have come and gone over the years, but you are the ones that will last. Youve made such a powerful impact on our lives.
