June 27, 2001 *From Soap Opera Digest-July 3, 2001 Issue Back to the Island With Them! Survivor votes have cast members off the island and the Outback. We've already done that on soaps, so here's something new: Who would you like to see voted back on General Hospital? These are the top vote-getters... Robin (49 votes) Brenda (42 votes) Tracy (14 votes) Frisco (11 votes) Katherine (11 votes) The Tribal Council Speaks! Here's what you had to say: "If I were the ABC president, Kimberly McCullough (ex-Robin) would be the first person on my speed dial!" Coming Home! GH fans want Robin (Kimberly McCullough) back in the nest. As savvy GH and AMC fans know by now, Kimberly McCullough recently reprised Robin for a few days in Pine Valley. And McCullough seems ready to fly home. When asked recently it she'd like to come back the actress told Digest, "Yes definitely" Whether that would be on GH or AMC, however, is still up in the air.
*From Soap Opera Digest-July 3, 2001 Issue Mother-Child Reunion All My Children's Finola Hughes and Kimberly McCullough showed why they are both Emmy-winning actresses when they reunited as mother and daughter performing their scenes with subtlety and beauty. Thier reunion touched the souls and hearts of many fans. This was a moment that I've waited for, and General Hospital surely missed out big time by not bringing back these beloved characters first. Hopefully, Robin and Anna will be together once again, either in Pine Valley or Port Charles. H.M., IL
June 28, 2001 *From Soap Opera Weekly-July 10, 2001 Issue A Sparkling Reunion I just loved watching every minute of Anna and Robin Scorpio on All My Children. I had looked forward to their reunion for many years, and AMC did not disappoint. Kimberly McCullough and Finola Hughes are still amazing together, and you would swear they really are mother and daughter. They bring you into their world and make you part of the story. ABC should do everything in its power to make Anna and Robin a permanent fixture. T. Jacobs, San Diego
July 12, 2001 From Soap Opera Weekly-July 17, 2001 York Steals the Spotlight Although GH's June 18 episode was suppose to showcase Luke and Laura's highly anticipated divorce, I thought that Mac and Felicia's decision to divorce was much more powerful. John J. York's acting made it seem so real. His performance was understated but powerful. The final scene with Mac crying in the rain while the young couples in love passed by was heartbreaking. Who does his character have left in his life? Where does he go from here? I don't usually cry watching soap operas, but this time I did. York has proved time after time that he can deliver steller performances when he is given the material. It boggles my mind that the powers that be cannot get him into a front-burner storyline after being back-burned for more than two years. York always delivered the goods despite the small amount of screen time he receives. What an incredible performance. Donna Balardi
