Scoops McCracken became a fulltime columnist for the Twin Cities Gazette in 2003 and has developed a reputation for offering commentary on wide-ranging issues of the day as they relate to sports. He came to the Gazette in 2003 after being the daily beat reporter for the ESOX Baseball Club from 1999-2002 as the ESOX online reporter, which earned him the Gatorade Sports Beat Reporter of the Year in 2002. Scoops graduated from the University of Minnesota in 2000. He resides in Minneapolis along with his brother, Skip McCracken, who took over for Scoops as ESOX online beat reporter.
