Biography

Scott moved to Perth from Port Maquarie in 2001 for the opportunity to work as a furniture polisher. Scott is an avid skater and is a member of the 'Pest' skateboarding crew. He also has a part in a local skate video. Scott has been a singer in a local band and has won Hastings Valley 'Battle of the Bands' Best Vocalist for 2000.

Ever since the announcement of the first solo Popstar, Scott Cain has yet to believe the results. He was among many thousand applicants who applied for the chance of a musical career on the Channel 7 television series, "Popstars", which changed the show to a 'solo popstar' competition just in 2002. 

In earlier rounds, many may have thought that Scott may not had much of a chance of getting to the house but as the weeks went by, his voice was improving rapidly and the judges' decision to call him back was proved to be the right thing. Fortunately, he had what the judges wanted, after being notified that he had gotten through to Pop Central, the house of the final 7. The judges were to cut it down to only the last 7 finalists, and then leave the decision in the hands of the public. The new style of choosing the popstar was to leave it to the audiences to vote for their favourite by calling that person's number.

With the other 6 finalists; Danielle, James, Azaria, Julie, Cherie & Troy, Scott arrived at the house with hopes that he would become the popstar. Weeks went by as Troy, Azaria, James, Julie and Cherie left respectively, leaving only Danielle and Scott. Although with many doubts that the song he had created would never even be released, the 21 year old kept faith in his fans all over Australia. And his faith must have proved him good because once Jackie O, one of the Popstars Judges announced that 'Congratulations. You are the popstar.. Scott', Scott must have been over the moon and terribly happily that he was the popstar that everyone wanted to win. 

Most people suspect, and predict that fame will go to this young man's head, but it's very unlikely. Reasons is for the fact that Scott Cain is a nice, genuine, sweet and extremely talented man who obviously hasn't had an easy life either with his father dying when he had only been an infant. With his past behind him, he is now focusing on his career.... his career as a popstar.
