Chad's Summary: SG-1 must repair a device on planet P2A--018 capable of defending the planet against Goa'uld attack. The device is known as The Sentinel to the people who call the planet home. The Sentinel malfunctions, thus, placing team SG-9 in jeopardy. A rogue SG Team, under the command of Col. Sean Grieves (Frank Cassini), just prior to the events of [Shades of Grey] disabled the device to determine how the machine operated. SG-1, SG-3, and two members of the rogue SG team, Col. Sean Grieves and Lt. Kershaw (Christina Cox), gate to planet P2A--018 to repair the machine and rescue team SG-9. Jackson, Grieves, and Kershaw are tasked with repairing The Sentinel. Meanwhile, O'Neill and Grogan go to talk to Marul -- a Latonan leader -- about evacuating his people through the Stargate just as a Goa'uld attack, on the planet, begins. Jackson and the others succeed in breaching The Sentinel's protective force field to begin repairs. The Sentinel is in working order, but without a caretaker the device can not function. Col. Grieves killed the previous caretaker when the rogue team first arrived on the planet. O'Neill and Grogan are taken to The Sentinel by Jaffa. Col. Grieves becomes the next caretaker. Both the Jaffa and the Goa'uld disappear from the planet.
