Chad's Summary: SG-1 is trapped in a virtual reality machine that makes them relive painful memories from their past. O'Neill and Teal'c are forced to relive a failed special ops. mission from O'Neill's past in which an officer under his command dies. On the other hand, Jackson and Carter must relive the death of Jackson's foster parents. Teal'c can not relive events from his past, because he has a Goa'uld larva. Just as Carter can not relive events from her past because she was blended with a Tok'Ra. Jack and Daniel try to avert the mistakes of the past, but they can not. Jack and Daniel refuse to play the game that the Gamekeeper (Dwight Schultz) has set up. Carter and Teal'c try to convince the Gamekeeper that the planet has recovered from a chemical disaster. SG-1 believe they have returned to Earth, but when General Hammond orders them to go back to the planet, they realize they are still trapped in the machine. SG-1 escapes the machine. The Gamekeeper knows that the planet has recovered, but he is afraid that the people will ruin the planet again as they did in the past. SG-1 returns home for real.
