Volume One, Issue One

-April 21st 2004-
I have had a bit of a stressful day thus far, so when I got home I had to release. I was glad to see that the 'Best of' volume one for the second season of Chapelle's Show was on tonight. In case any of you reading this blog have yet to watch the show, check for it on Comedy Central, it is absolutely hilarious. Anyway, I made a few other refreshing discoveries tonight as well. As I was browsing through movie trailers online tonight I saw previews for two movies that have my intrest. The first is Godsend, a film that I had watched a special on a while back, and I can tell you it has a very chilling feel. Cloning is something that inspires fear in me. The second movie, is an independant comedy known as Napolean Dynamite. This is something that you just have to see for yourself. I think it could be a humorous ride, and possibly one I would go to see (I am not a huge lover of comedies, although the few I enjoy are excellent).

I have returned from my weekend reccession and am completely refreshed, although the ominous cloud that awaits me tommorow (The end of spring break) is huanting my mind. When I last posted I had yet to see Kill Bill volume II. Now that I have seen it, I can assure you that it was most excellent. Tarantino has yet to fail in amazing me every time I see one of his films. If you would like to hear a little more about how I feel on the subject of Kill Bill click here to read the thoughts I shared with my fellow members of a certain forum, in which I post sparatically.
On the 15th I can remember thinking to myself: 'I wish I could talk to Tarantino and ask him if he could suggest anyone a few films, what would they be?' Thankfully Tr!o, one of the few television stations that have yet to sell out to the the wretched onslaught of the reality television show, have answered my prayers. For the duration of the week, the station has given director Quentin Tarantino creative control of the station. He has been given free reign to share a handful of his favorite films with the small portion of society smart enough to watch Tr!o. Needless to say I have been watching the station pretty much non-stop since friday.
Through this process I was able to view a film I had not seen since I was roughly seven years old, 'Navajo Joe'. Not only is this one of the most entertaining westerns you may ever view, the soundtrack is absolutely masterfull, and was conducted by the great Ennio Morricone of spaghetti western fame. In search of the main theme of the film I made another great discovery online, I found a blog written by an avid movie geek, and boy is it fabulous. He posts links to galleries of film posters, keeps up on movie news, and on fridays, places Mp3's from great movies on the site. I reccomend all of you pay the site a visit, right here! Enjoy yourselves until next time I post.

The second coming is upon us. Today, as I informed you in my last post, I had a track meet. It was a bit disruptful to my day (as I had to scramble to scarf down a salad, and get ready) but it turned out alright in the end. I had two PR's (Personal Records) on the day, which helped to lighten my spirits. I also had the pleasure of running not only the 4X100 meter relay, but also the 4X200 meter relay. For those of you who know me well, you can be assured it was not a pretty sight. Before the meet, I was able to go over to my grandmothers and see my baby cousin Hayden. He was feeling blue unfortunately, with a lingering flu and an ear-ache. He didn't cry a lot while I was there, but he apparently cried for several hours after I left. Overall it has been a decent day however, and I am much looking forward to tommorow (if you aren't aware why, see yesterday's post).

Hello, little people benieth my feet, this marks the official first entry into my official web-log (More commonly known as a blog). I will refer to my blog, as a web-journal. Why you ask; I am really not so sure, maybe it's because I feel that my blog is something special. In essense it will be much the same as any other web-log. I plan on giving details on what I did during my day (on the days that there is anything to report), letting you in on things that I have recently discovered and have deemed to be elk (a word I use to describe something possesing 'cool' qualities), and for displaying my thoughts on the world abroad (and not so broad).
Let's kick things off. Today, I watched Kill Bill volume One for the fourth time since renting it yesterday (Yes, I am aware that I am a complete loser). Luckily I will be able to view the film whenever I feel inclined, as I ripped the movie from the DVD to my PC. Now I am completely stoked for the volume 2 premiere on friday. I also have a Track meet tommorow, so I will fill you in on the results of that particular event in my next post.
