    Dining in Chicago

I met up with Don and he generously treated me to lunch at a pizza parlor. I have long wanted to try a true Chicago pizza, hoping to rediscover the excellence of a true chef who worked at my elementary school. I found it! The pizza was rich with cheese and garlic. The toppings covered it to within 1/4" of the edge and the crust had the texture of a heal-slice of Wonderbread. :-)

After I fixed Don's clock and sculpture, he and his wife Mary treated me to a superb Italian restraunt named Carmine's. They are friends with the owner and the chef came out to visit.

The chef used my camera to shoot this of us.

The appetizer was chilled calimari and octopus in a delicate vinaigrette.

My veal parmesan covered the plate. The cheese was as thick as what came on the pizza at lunch! It was very tender, rich and full of excellent flavor. We had enough left over that I was able to make a complete dinner for Craig and Marina on Saturday.
