Information about our School

The International Children’s School was founded in 1989 with the mission of providing pre-school – 3^rd grade education to children aged 3-7 with a quality program based on European concepts of learning.  While our primary focus is on literature, spelling, and math skills we also use a multi-cultural curriculum to develop a child’s awareness and appreciation of other cultures.  This curriculum includes foreign languages along with the basic skills in reading, writing, the art of handwriting, math, science, and geography.  The school’s program has children involved in creative and fun activities.  They learn facts during theme time, and the core knowledge is then reinforced through games, role-playing, music, art and crafts, puppetry and cooking.  Above all, they achieve a joy of learning.

The school emphasizes that the highest standards be maintained in these areas:

1. The quality and diversity of its programs.
2. The quality and competencies of the teaching staff.
3. The quality and cleanliness of the facilities provided.

The International Children’s School, Inc. is an independent, private preschool to grade 3 academic school. We have been in operation since September of 1989.

• We accept children ages 3 - 7
• We are in session from September to the end of July
• This school is part of the National Year Round School Association
• We provide French and Spanish instruction
• We offer a continuous enrollment program which begins the month of enrollment and ends one year from the start date
• We are non-denominational; however we respect and learn about all cultures and religions.
