| The School Bus Archives website was founded in February of 2002,featuring nothing but a simple index page with some links,as it was the webmaster's first attempt at webdesign. The first real breakthrough of SBA was when we made a move to Tripod web hosting,and the webmaster learned how to make GeoCities pages on the side,while continually improving the Tripod page. After some major problems with Tripod,we set up a new GeoCities account and moved back to begin a fresh start. Our first photos of decent quality arrived in around July 2002,and until December of 2002,they were of a small size and generally low quality. However,in December 2002,the webmaster recieved a new HP PhotoSmart 320 digital camera that takes excellent quality,and with tips from fellow school bus photographers,the photo quality improved and continues to improve. | The webmaster of the School Bus Archives,Silas Jackson,never really though much about school buses or school transportation in general until the 2000/2001 school year,when he began riding a 1997 Blue Bird Ford Conventional. Having an hour-long bus ride,he "got to know" the bus (and other buses) quite well. After learning every bus number and every make and model in the fleet,he did a simple search on the Internet for "school buses". He stumbled upon some of the bus pages of the times,such as the School Bus Yard,South Florida School Buses,ect. After browsing through those pages,he found and became an active member of the School Bus Fleet Magazine Forums,which sparked and kept his interest burning. After several new school bus sites opened,he decided to open a page of his own,although he had no school bus photos at the time. Eventually,the photos started to come in,and the site grew. The webmaster does not intend to pursue a career in school transportation,but does plan to drive a school bus during college.
