The School

The School started in early 2005 in Armidale with Lance McNamara, Johl Sue and Jon Clay as the Principal and Insegnantes respectively, creating Australia's first school of Italian Longsword. We started teaching students under the first incarnation of the school - Europeo School of Sword, where Longsword was taught according to the works of Maestro Fiore dei Liberi and Maestro Filippo Vadi, both masters of the 'dei Liberi' tradition. The name of the school was changed to Scholare Vadi - European swordsmanship in 2006, and the course material taught at the school was increased to cover the arming sword, dagger and spear methods of the abovementioned Masters, as well as increasing the amount of longsword coursework in respect to our increasing studies.
In June 2007, Lance McNamara moved from Armidale to Brisbane, and has recently started the second Salle d'Armes of the School.
