Matt Murdock was a boy growing up in the part of Manhattan known as Hell's Kitchen. He Idolized his father,ex-boxer Jack "The Devil" Murdock, but questioned his emplyment. One day he saw his dad running a shakedown for the mob, ran off into an accident involving biohazardous waste that sprayed into his eyes. It made him blind, but it also enhanced his remaining senses, giving him enhanced abilties, including a hearing based bat radar sense. He made a promise to his father to never give up, His father promised to box again. A proud man, he won a fight that he was supposed to throw, which ended up with his death. Young Murdock vowed to avevenge his father and serve justice where ever he can.
Now an adult, by day, he's known as the blind lawyer of said neighborhood, by night he is the costume clad vigilante some know as Daredevil, others doubt his existence.
In his quest for justice, DD seeks to find out the ID of the Kingpin, a mysterious leader whom is thought to run all of the criminal activity in New York City. In public, he is a business man Wilson Fisk, a man built pretty much like a tank. In private, he seeks to hunt the man without fear by any means.
To achieve this end, he recruits a psychotic hitman known simply as "Bullseye". His sole skill is is absolutely perfect aim, which he uses to make anything he can get his hands on, from a paper clip, to a peanut into a lethal weapon. And he never misses.
Elektra Notchias is mysterious. By day she is an affluent young woman, sought after by Matt Murdock's heart. Underneath the facade, she is a powerful master of the martial arts, and deadly weilder of sais. She seekes vengeance on the one man she believes killed her father, Daredevil. But did he do the crime?
