Headquarters of the Legion of Galactic Guardians 2099:

Martinex 5 cleared his throat and began to speak. "As you know, something is wrong with the timestream. We must do something to fix it."

"I agree," said Mass.

"Yes," said Mig-El Gand, alias the Spider-Boy of 2099. "If we don't correct the problem, terrible things might--YAAA!" A timesquare opened behind him and started to suck him in. "HELP!" he called.

No one could reach him in time. Except Xcel. The fastest girl of her time. She rushed to the timesquare. Spider-Boy was sucked in. As the square closed, she dove for it, barely making it through.

***

A strange planet.

Xcel popped out of a timesquare. She was in the middle of a large field. Spider-Boy was nowhere to be found. Off in the distance she saw a castle. That's the only place he could be, she thought.

Just then, another timesquare opened up near her and out popped a strange-looking waterfowl on a motorcycle, sporting a leather jacket and very big guns. "--Bevarlene..." he muttered.

"Who are you?" questioned Xcel.

"I'm Lobo the Duck, meanest bounty hunter who ever lived. Who're you?"

"I'm Xcel, a member of..."

"SCREEE!" a large creature with wings swooped down out of nowhere.

"Hey! It's Bat-Thing! How ya doin', bud? It's me, Lobo!" said the duck.

BRATATATATATATATATAT! Bullets sprayed the ground. The three barely got out the way in enough time.

"You're not Major Zemo," said the obviously confused Sgt. Rock.

"Something weird is going on," stated Xcel.

Galloping was heard. Appearing out of nowhere was Jono Hex!

<Where am I?> he said telepathically, since half of his face was missing.

"I certainly wish I knew, cowboy," grunted Sgt. Rock.

After each person introduced themselves to one another, Xcel told them about her dilemma. The group headed out toward the castle.

***

After a short while, Jono spoke up. <You hear something?> he asked.

TOOM. TOOM. TOOM.

"SKRIK! Over there! SKREE!" howled Bat-Thing, pointing a claw in the easterly direction.

Suddenly, a Tyrannosaurus Rex charged out of the distance. It was heading right for them, nonstop.

Lobo and Sgt. Rock opened fire on it, to no avail. The dinosaur just got madder.

<Stand back,> said Jono. He lashed out with the energy that inhabits his body. The T-Rex was hit square in the chest. It screamed in agony. Then it fell to the ground, dead.

"Whoa," said the shocked Lobo.

The ground began to tremble and shake. A tremendous flash enveloped the ragtag bunch of heroes. When the light dissipated, they were in the middle of a jungle.

"The planet time-shifted!" hollered Xcel.

"It what?" said Sgt. Rock.

"It time-shifted," she repeated. "Marty told me about this once. The planet shifted from one time zone, as in the dinosaur era, to another time. I'm unfamiliar about this one, though."

All of a sudden, a camouflaged soldier popped out of the bushes. "Get down, you guys!" he whispered. "Do ya want Charlie ta frag ya or something?"

"Now yer speakin' my language!" smiled Lobo. He grabbed one of his ridiculously sized guns and hopped off of his bike. "When does the action start?" he said.

"DIE!" screamed a Vietnamese soldier. He pulled out a rifle and started shooting. Soon enough, there was an entire battalion shooting at them.

But there were many Americans fighting back. The battle was evenly matched. Then our heroes entered the fray.

Lobo sprayed bullets all over. With his nearly unlimited ammunition, he turned the tables greatly. When his cigar was taken out by a bullet, he got really mad.

"Ever danced with the devil in the pale moon light?" he mumbled. He pulled a rocket launcher out of a compartment on his bike and shot at the men who had fired at him. It took out a large section of land, and set part of the jungle on fire. He laughed.

Xcel, meanwhile was trying to disarm the opposing forces. Then she took them out with karate chops, kicks, and punches. When she noticed that it wasn't helping as much as she thought it would, she started to cut loose. That training really pays off, she thought, slamming her foot into an enemies' rib cage.

Jono Hex's horse was killed in a storm of bullets before he could do so much as blink. After emptying his pistols, he unleashed a powerful blast of energy. That greatly increased the destruction, and helped him to get over his anger of watching his steed die. That was for you, he thought.

"I was born to do this!" yelled Sgt. Rock. He fired bullets all over the place, killing a large amount of Vietnamese. He then hurled a grenade, increasing the mayhem tenfold. An enemy took out a bazooka. Bat-Thing pulled the Sarge out of the way just in time.

"Thanks, pal," he said.

"SKEECH! No problem. SCEE!" He dropped him in a safe place.

Bat-Thing buzzed the crowd, slashing them with his claws. They dropped their weapons. He crashed into them head-on next, knocking a bunch of them out. A bullet grazed his skull, and he tumbled to the ground.

The planet time-shifted once more, and the team found themselves on a frozen tundra.

"Brrrrrrr!" exclaimed Lobo. "It's freezing!"

"Oh no!" cried Xcel. "We're in the Ice Age!"
