"F-F-Freezing," whimpered Sergeant Rock. That's right. Whimpered. Trapped in the Ice Age on a strange, time-shifting planet, he's just not himself.

Five heroes, on a mission to rescue someone all but one don't even know. Who are they? Xcel, Bat-Thing, Lobo the Duck, Jono Hex, and Sgt. Rock.

Suddenly, the ground began to rumble. Then it glowed. The planet was time-shifting again.

The heroes then found themselves on a ship in the middle of a harbor.

"Just fraggin' great! Bike's frozen," grumbled Lobo the Duck.

"Uh, guys," said Xcel, "We have other problems."

"Now I know where we are!" said Sgt. Rock, looking at the people on the ship.

<Good, because I don't,> said Jono Hex.

"This is the Boston Tea Party!" he exclaimed.

Just as he said this, a barrel filled with tea was hurled at his head. He dodged, just in the nick of time. The barrel smashed into bits.

"SKREEEE!" shrieked Bat-Thing. He dived from the air into a crowd of "Indians," knocking them on their rears.

The fight insued.

On of the Party took out a gun and fired it at Lobo. Xcel ran, caught it out of mid-air, and threw it back at super-speed, hitting the gunman it the arm.

"WAH-HOOOO!" hollered Sgt. Rock. He fired in all directions.

<Shoot to wound!> boomed Jono Hex.

"Whatever," said Lobo. He fired a rocket, blowing up a large amount of tea barrels, and sending "Indians" flying into the water.

Jono Hex used his mutant powers to blast a hole in the deck.

Members of the tea party fell through to the level below.

Another big flash of light, and the heroes found themselves on a train.

Then Bat-Thing noticed some cowboys on horseback approaching.

"SCREECH! Robbers! Robbers!" He pointed a claw.

"Not the Great Train Robbery," said Sgt. Rock. He threw a grenade, taking the robbers out of the game before They could even board the train.

After riding the train for a while, another time-shift occured, making them travel on the Mayflower until they finally reached the castle.

"Here we are," said Xcel.

"SCEE!" Bat-Thing screeched.

"Quiet!" scolded Lobo.

Sgt. Rock opened the door. Inside, floating in the air, was a time-square holding Spider-Boy 2099.

"Mig-El!" yelled Xcel.

"..........Hey,...............'sup?" he said weakly, as if struggling to talk.

<We'll get you out,> spoke Jono. He used his mutant powers to blast the time-square, but nothing happened.

Sgt. Rock opened fire, and kept shooting until he ran out of bullets.

Still nothing.

"Who's doing this?" said Xcel.

"Allow me to introduce myself," said a figure stepping out of the shadows. "I am Kangul." He fired a blast of energy at the heroes.

They scattered. Kangul charged up the little square on his chest and fired another blast.

"Yikes!" said Lobo, barely avoiding it.

<Time to be on the offense,> said Jono. He fired at full strength. It hit Kangul and knocked him into a control console. It short-circuited, and freed Spider-Boy.

"Finally! I thought I'd never get out!" he exclaimed.

Lobo opened fire on Kangul. The villain returned fire with an energy blast, that destroyed Lobo's weapons, and sent him flying backwards.

Bat-Thing flew at amazing speeds toward Kangul, but was punched back.

<I've got an idea,> said Jono Hex telepathically. He used his power to destroy all the computers. The ground shook, and then a beam of temporal energy erupted from the ground.

Spider-Boy fired his webs and wrapped Kangul up in them from head to toe. The energy erupted again. And again. And again. And again.

And again.

"I can see something in the rays," said Xcel. "They look like timezones!"

"They must be," said Sgt. Rock. "I see the Howlers!" He leapt into the ray. It took him back to his time.

Bat-Thing, Lobo, and Jono followed suit. Xcel and Spider-Boy were the only ones left.

"Better hurry," said Mig-El. They jumped into a ray.

Then the planet exploded.

**********

Spider-Boy and Xcel appeared in the Legion of Galactic Guardians meeting room.

"Did we miss anything?" asked Xcel.

**********

New Coast City.

Kangul dropped from the sky, into an alley.

A paper was at his feet that said "STRANGE LANTERN BATTLES BARON SINESTRO."

"Where am I?" he whispered.

END?
