These disciplines blend well together to improve the synovial fluids in your joints, improving flexibility, and massaging the internal organs, as well as incorporating many isometric, muscle training poses. CARDIO-KICK-A new and Exciting Group Exercise Class...Get your heart rate racing as you jab and kick your way to a stronger you with this Tae-bo flavored workout! This class has a Tae-Bo flavor to it, involving jabs, upper cuts, kicks, etc. It will be taught by Melissa Glidden, your new intern. Try it out and give her your input! She wants to customize the class to fit your fitness needs and suggestions. BODY SCULPT- This class starts a little later, to give you time to get in your cardio and warm up, before getting down to the busniess of toning. This class is designed to target the major muscle groups. Each class's focus could be on a total body workout, or may focus on one or two special muscle groups. It incorporates medicine balls, bands, stability balls, and dumbbells, for a muscle-carving workout.l MOVIN' & GROOVIN' - in the tradition of jazzercize.. Various dance steps will be strung together over the 6 weeks until a artfully developed & completely choreographed sequence of steps produces a show quality performance. STEP n KICK - This combo class variety the routine with portions of step and segments of cardio kick. STEP classes provide a high intensity, low impact 3D cardiovascular workout. This class involves stepping up and down on an adjustable platform. Stepping burns fat. STEP is great for all fitness levels. By changing the height of the platform, or by using more arm movements you can change the intensity of the class. STEP N TONE combines the cardiovascular benefits of step and goes further by incorporating a toning segment that will focus on all the vital muscle groups, thereby enhancing the potential to burn fat and utilize more calories throughout your whole dayStep-o-matic. This class is designed for those hectic days where you need to squeeze in a nitty-gritty, get-right-down-to-it short version class. Expect a higher intensity in this quickie workout. Step-o-matic. Lighting Tightening is the get right down to business version of body sculpt, and will cover all major muscle groups. BOOT CAMP This class will push you to the limits of your fitness. Class consists of short drill style segments. This class is designed for healthy impact-resistant members and is easy to follow. It wraps up with stretching. CIRCUIT TRAINING is designed to help build up your cardiovascular fitness & muscular endurance, toning all your major muscles. Participants move between numerous stations (STEPS, bands, exertubes, hand weights, jump ropes, balls, etc.), performing a unique activity (1-2 min.) at each stop. This class is designed for all levels. It is a great way to add variety to your exercise routine and is an excellent way to efficiently gain the benefits of both in the same amount of time. It is loosely structured to keep it fun yet highly effective and challenging. BASIC TRAINING/ i.e. Boot Camp - This motivating, and challenging class combines the above 2 formats, into a complete body workout, integrating the key components of cardiovascular and toning exercises, for an intense variety that will be sure to pump you up! INTERVAL- attempts to achieve similar objectives as the circuit training, (benefiting cardio & toning) but the format is structured to be a �group� followed class. It is interspersed with freestyle dancing and alternates between segments of higher and lower intensities. This class utilizes the step and a varying assortment of toys (weights, balls, tubes etc) and is meant for FUN! CARDIO MIX This class combines both traditional Hi/Low floor aerobics and STEP. Class may consist of 1/2 STEP or 1/2 Floor, or short alternating segments of each. This class is designed for all levels. Lighting Tightening is the get right down to business version of body sculpt, and will cover all major muscle groups. BUTT & GUTTS will be a great way to target those stubborn areas. While you can not "spot-reduce" a particular area, you can tone up the muscles that seem to be the most resistant to training efforts. AB-SOLUTELY RIPPED: Once you have finished your cardio session, come join this 20 minute class, consisting of 15 minutes of pure ab enjoyment! HA HA! This class will help tone and sculpt your abdominal muscles. RESIST A BALL is a growing trend that�s getting hot. Balls have been a training tool, long recognized in Sweden and in the rehab arena, for quite some time. We will use it in creative ways to target a variety of areas. While you can not �spot-reduce� a particular area, you can tone up the muscles that seem to be the most resistant to training efforts. This is a fun way to learn how you can incorporate the �ball� into your own independent workouts, as well. This class concludes with the "Relax & Stretch" segment, described below..... RELAX & STRETCH - What a perfect way to unwind and leave the week�s stress�s behind. The emphasis here is to de-stress while learning the essential training benefits of flexibility training and alternative ways to stretch. BODY FOCUS- (may vary from 30 -55 minutes) This is a group meditative session, where isometric methods of toning will be intersersed with flexibility exercises. Deep breathing techniques and relaxing music will help induce an introspective journey toward a healthy mental and emotional being. Self-Reiki will be introduced. SPECIALS: From time to time, a special, holiday theme or other sort of minority occurring class format will be offered, and despite it's goofy premise, it will always be designed to achieve fitness related objectives. TEAM MIX - The staff will combine their talents & creativity to bring you more diversity�a little bit of dance, kick, boot camp and step� this smorgasbord workout will burn the fat and tighten the muscles, while having fun. CARDIO-SURF PARTY- A little surfing, a little raggae, a little wacky, wild and fun. Join us for this island flavored surfin' safari. MONSTER MASH WORKOUT- A halloween treat�. **All classes will include a warm-up, which prepares the body to workout and reduces risk of injury, as well as, a cool down to prevent blood pooling and alleviate potential soreness. It is highly recommended that everyone stays and participates in these portions of each class. |
