Sarawak Children’s Cancer Society

To provide emotional support including counseling services to the cancer children and their families.
To create public awareness, and disseminate medically sound information to the families, regarding childhood cancer.
To provide financial assistance to needy patients and their families.
To organize social activities for the cancer children and their families.

Sarawak Children’s Cancer Society (SCCS) is established for the relief and care of Malaysian children suffering from cancer. They help children irrespective of race, religion and creed. SCCS is a non-profit voluntary organization formed on 26^th September, 1999 by a group of children’s parent with cancer to discover ways in which they could help each other and their children.

The society formally registered in 26th November, 2001. SCCS expanded they role in provision of financial and emotional support, accommodation for outstation families and treatment facilities based on the incidence of new cases of childhood cancer which reaches 60 to 70 patients a year.

SCCS improved treatment techniques, quality of life, public education about childhood cancer, and future prospects for children with cancer were recognized as increasingly important. From the initial group of a few concerned parents, the Society’s membership has now grown to include people from all over Sarawak who share the Society’s aims and concerns.

Gary Ho, Sarawak Children’s Cancer Society president launch a lot of society activities and campaign to encourage parent of a child with cancer to be positive. Children who suffer in cancer parent is everything for them, they don’t know why they are in hospital and what sickness they have at such a young age. So, never give up till the last second!
