For more general travel information, try one of the big two online travel sites, Expedia or Travelocity. These are also good places to search for flight information and make reservations.

Frommers.com has some excellent package deals. It's a good idea to subscribe to their frequent (a few times per week) free newsletter. Their email specials come and go quickly. For example, in Fall of 2003 I saw a package for any one Scandinavian capital city for $600, including roundtrip airfare, 4 nights hotel, good thru March!
