| Friday 11 April 2003 8:13 pm Happy 23rd birthday to Laura! Greetings from cold Ithaca. I'm up here visiting my former roomie for her bday. Of course this very moment she is having dinner with her "friend", and my plans got all mucked up, so I'm sitting alone at the computer. Well no... there are 5 cats in this house. Fun times. This has been something of a bizarre past week and a half. I watched the Wizards lose too many times, basically knocking us out of the playoffs. My mother called me the most abhorrable thing and still sticks by her word. (I'm not really talking to her right now.) I've started going back to church. I aced a projet I started about 4 hours before it was due, after staying out all night. I went to Atlantic City on a whim, and now I'm in Ithaca. I had the pleasure of running into a few of my friends at Moonshadows last night. Most of the people I saw had no idea I was coming, so there were plenty of hugs and "what are you doing here?"s. It was a strange thing, though, only recognizing a handful of people when a year ago I'd have known nearly the entire crowd. I suppose I could have done a better job of getting to know more people while I was here... but most would have just been random acqaintances anyways. It's all good. Ian came out to see me last night, too. He is such a doll! I haven't seen him and barely spoken to him since last October, so catching up was a lot of fun. He is one of the most positive people I know, and therefore one of the best people to talk to when stuff isn't going the way I want. In regards to a certain situation, Ian basically told me: Do NOT fuck up a good thing because of miscommunication. Ah Ian, right there to tell me that walking away from a situation isn't always the best option. Good kid. He is one of, um, 3 people who honestly makes me happier just by being with him or even thinking about him. There need to be more of his kind in this world. Welp, I need to find some food for dinner. Of course it's Friday so I can't eat meat, so it kind of limits my options. Thankfully, though, there's a Wegmans 2 blocks away. Oh Wegmans... How I miss you! There are exactly 2 things I miss desparately about Ithaca: Wegmans and Viva's chicken ranchero quesidillas. And I'm gonna hop over to the first so I can grab food. Yay! |
