| 5 December 2002 11:10 pm Thursday Happy 23rd birthday, JQ! Quote of the week: "I am infinitely more charming than him!" ~ Scott, on a college buddy of mine. We got snow! It's very pretty, about 6 inches deep, and school was cancelled because of it. Being able to wake up at noon was definitely a good way to start my day, which I spent lazing like the best of them. Comfort food and good cartoons galore. I was watching some neighborhood kids sled down our yard, kind of irked that they beat me to it. The only time I changed out of my pjs was to play outside for a while. Then I came back in and changed right back into my pjs and have been in them since. And the even better news? School is cancelled tomorrow, too! Awww yeah... 4 day weekend coming my way. Angela and I went to our old high school yesterday to visit some teachers. The first thing I noticed about being back there is that almost everyone is taller than me, but that doesn't entirely surprise me. Hehe. It was pretty strange being back - I hadn't visited in 3 years, and they've put in a new building and changed the uniforms since then. Plus I think the students are getting skankier. But there are definitely some future hotties roaming those halls. DJO was always blessed with attractive people. Lol. Anyways, I got to visit some of my favorite teachers. My freshman honors english teacher (who also teaches speech and was delighted to hear that it was my major) wants me to come into her first period class and talk about speech sometime. I'm like, that's at 8am right... yeah, I dunno about that. My absolute favorite teacher (who looks like Mrs. Claus) was the same, still cracking the whip on the students and demanding the best, and quite happy to see me. She says that I belong in tv or radio. Yay. Oh! One of our clsasmates from '98 is now a teacher there. That was pretty funny to see, and the job suits her really well. On a more mournful note, one of the teachers I was going to look for passed away that day - there was an announcement made right after the thought of finding her crossed my mind. Cancer. Despite the somber news, it was certainly nice to visit. I loved that school. |
