| Friday 3 January 2003 9:32 pm What would you do if you won $111 million bucks? Some West Virginia dude won the $314.9 million Powerball on Christmas, took the lesser amount in one big check right away (the $111 after taxes), and is probaby one happy man. So the question raised is: what would I do if I'd won the $111 million? Easy. I'd give: Personal: * 5 million to each person in my immediate family (plus new houses and cars) * 13 mil for me (3 new houses, 2+ new cars, private jet, extravagant wedding(s), etc) * 15 mil for my future kids (can you imagine how expensive college will be 20+ years from now, plus clothes, birthday parties, cars, etc.) * 2 mil spread among other relatives * 5 mil on travel (first class everything, 4 trips abroad each year, bringing fam and friends along once in a while, etc) * 2 mil on good friends' gifts for a long while Personal business ventures: * 5 mil to start up my own fashion line/company * 6 mil to start up my own entertainment (movies) marketing firm (includes an effort to bring more movies to be filmed in the DC area) * 4 mil to start up my own restaurant/club place Charity: * 5 mil to start up my own charity (haven't decided on what yet) * 500,000 to my high school * 700,000 to my college (they charge plenty as is) * 800,000 to my grad school * 2 mil to set up a scholarship fund at a to-be-announced university * 10 mil to start up school for performing arts and sciences (both acting/music/writing, etc. and the tech side - film/music editing/production and the like) which includes scholarships * 7 mil to cystic fibrosis research * 4 mil to nature and wild life conservation (haven't decided which group(s) yet) * 1 mil to some help keeping music/performing arts programs alive fund (like Justin Timberlake's, though not necessarily his. lol) * 2 mil to cancer research * 1 mil to the Make A Wish Foundation * 1 mil to the humane society of america * 500,000 to the seeing eyes for the blind * 500,000 to local community efforts Plus $3 mil of leeway Yeah, that sounds about right. Man, if I only won that money, though. I'd have done the country some good, and set my family for life. |
