HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

Having my birthday so close to new years is always a funny experience, because I look back at my past year twice in two or three days. I think that next year I'll just streamline it and look back at the past year on the 31st, a good compromise. Hehe. And what's to remember about 2002?
Graduating, more school, Spain, snipers, spending about 2 months in LA, turning 22, and being at the MTV Movie Awards (though not particularly in that order). Plus, I flew on 38 planes. Hehe, it was a good year.

I do find it funny that some of my best friends didn't contact me on my birthday! That or they did, but had no idea it was my birthday (and had to be reminded). Yep, they shall remain unnamed, but you know who you are. Shame on you! Hehe. There were also some people who called and started the conversation with, "ummm when's your birthday?" At least they called on the right day. Lol. It's okay, but I'm going to write down who forgot and smite you for it. I'm all-powerful, ya know.

My birthday was nice. I was going to pamper myself and get a pedicure or facial or something like that, but after breakfast I ended up on the couch with no desire to move. I was indulging the sloth in me, and it felt
good. I eventually ended up at the mall, then at dinner for some excellent Chinese food, then at the last minute at the movie theater watching Catch Me If You Can. Against my general desires, I ended up at a bar for a bit, had the obligatory drink, then finally went home.

I'm not a drinker, so that whole "it's your birthday, you have to have a drink" line doesn't mean a thing to me. It actually annoys me that people repeatedly say that, but ya know, whatever - doesn't waste my breath. I do understand the social associations between celebrations and alcohol, but that doesn't make it mandatory. It's the same with new years. "You've gotta have some bubbly..." Blah blah. Tell me what rule book that's in. Hehe.

Any new years resolutions for me? Yup, but they're none of your business. Most of them, at least. But I will say that one is to read more than I did last year, so if you have any books to suggest to me or want to buy.... go for it!

Happy new year again!
