Magic

Final Demand
By Gail. R

Envelopes with windows live
In the mailbox, lurking
With intent.
Pay me NOW! They sceam,
Bold red letters telling everybody
That you forgot.

Some people are window envelopes,
Screaming for payment, demanding
That you attend to them,
grant their wishes and heed their red letters,
Tell them what it is they want to hear.
Well no more my friend.
I'm filing you in yesterday's pile
Of window envelopes, and
I'm TELLING you...
My account is paid in full.

MOONSTRUCK
By Gail. R.

Night creeps through windows
in melancholy disquiet
the stars liquefy,
flow like honey
sensual coating,
igniting a glowing ember,
impotent lust.
the moon dissolves
pervading senses,
silvery saccharine
narcotic, singeing perception
with smoldering hallucinations.
temptress moon,wafting sweet
essence,leaving only desire
unconsummated.
night creeps out again.

YOU WISH
By Gail.R

slip inside my silence
keep diving deeper
into a pool of secrets
hoping to reach bottom.
only to find
that with every inch
you fall
the bottom drops
a foot.

Choose A Song
By Gail. R

Rain, softly falling,
Each drop a symphony as
It hits the tin roof.
tap, tap, tap.

It can sound just like a sad song
With a slow beat,
That makes you daydream and sigh
Over what might of been, or
Could be in your life.

Or maybe a happy song
That brings memories,
Tender thoughts and smiles, someone
Who makes your heart beat
With happiness and joy.

At times it is a love song
With sweet and soft lyrics,tender
Romantic and sensual
That makes you think of dancing
In its showers.

Only you can decide which song
Is the one you are hearing,
Which music soothes your soul
And which song you want to sing along with.
Sometimes, you have to choose a song . . .
and the choosing isn't easy.
