Magic

MANNEQUIN
By Gail. R

I know nothing about style,
How disappointing for you,
when you're all glamour.
And so I'm short, eh?
Short an Armani evening gown,
Versace accessories,
and Donna Karan casual wear.

You're dying to dress me aren't you?
Go ahead, obviously I'm going anywhere.
2 cents too short always,
but under your expertise,
that all-knowing,
Absolute Fashion Sense,
I can be anything. . .
dressed in success,
something complete.

So now that you've "suited" me,
what do you think about the Cut?
Did I make it,
or am I still rough-edged marble?
may be I should be the judge of that.

EVASIVE MANOUVRES
By Gail. R.

You evade me
with that way you have
not quite denial
just an indifference to
everything I feel.

you make dents
with the sharpened stick
of your wit
in my self confidence
and i wilt.

but i wait
for the slightest chance
to bask in
the light that is you,
your power.

the night closes in
my cigarette burns down
in the ashtray,
each spark a moment that
didnt bring me you.

CRUEL IRONY

The pieces of
the puzzle
all fit
together
so
precisely
as I come
undone.

WHAT LIVES IN ME
By Gail. R

On a morning not too distant,
I'll fly away,
I"ll sing as if I was the wind,
And burn like fire.
Trembling, cold ice lives in my heart,
my words go racing before me,
They twine together as one,
But live together as two.
Roses that are gray,
And a ocean no longer blue enough,
The daze continues,
A bridge not to be crossed,
And a church not to be kneeled in.
But once the wind carries, once at peace,
Resting for eternal bounds
then I live.
