Members include educators in both private and public sectors: teachers, college and university professors, administrators and supervisors, librarians and educational specialists. Selection is based on professional qualifications, leadership potential and personal qualities. A prospective member must have three or more years in educational work and employment in the profession at the time of consideration. Those who accept the invitation to join commit themselves to taking an active part in programs, special projects and organizational activities. Members are expected to participate regularly at chapter meetings and to assume certain financial obligations as well. Dues are determined in accordance with the Constitution, the International Standing Rules, state organization bylaws and chapter rules. There are also nominal annual assessments to support programs and projects. |
