GREG: You're the big winner of the game! Congratulations!
JON: lol — I win!
GREG: First, the obligatory question: how does it feel?
JON: It feels great but I didn't expect to win. I couldn't believe it was a landslide vote. Other than that, the episodes made it look like I pulled an Amber.
GREG: I should say that we aren't entirely strangers... How many games have we played together?
JON: Actually we only played 1! lol
GREG: Ooops, is that all? That kills my conspiracy theory. But still... the Host lives in the Toronto area, the winner is from Toronto, and the episode-writer lives in Toronto. Coincidence?
JON: You're really from Toronto!?! ooo, I thought you were from Barrie. lol
GREG: A lot of the time you seemed to be worried about being voted out and almost desperate to win immunity, while other times you were determined to keep a low profile? Which are you: the patient player with exceptional self-control, or the lucky kid who slipped through the cracks?
JON: I think I pulled an Amber win and Amber mentioned luck as being one of the reasons she was there. I feel that I won because of the flaws the Shane-Tabbi-Diana-Rick group made. They pulled out the knife too fast and I let them get at each other while I just sat back and watched. I feel Diana was also another factor. My intentions were to use her as a "shield". I'll admit I was blindsided when she was gone and at that point, I thought harder: who did I have the best chances against? I thought I was screwed if I went to the final two with Rick because he played an excellent game. The jurors saw it another way but I would've voted for him.
GREG: Interesting! I know, it's hard to get a read on the jury when you're still in the game. So if you'd won final immunity, would you have chosen Rick or Kelley?
JON: I don't know who I would've chosen. I probably would choose Rick since I know the outcome. At the time though, I was considering to take Kelley. But what I did instead was position myself where both would take me!
GREG: Do you ever regret not being more active, and putting yourself in a position to better control your fate?
JON: It was strategy not being as active. I was strong early on and I did what Tabi did, hold back a bit. I think it worked because the stronger players were busy taking each other out!
GREG: What side do you take in the Michelle debacle?
JON: I'm neutral with the Michelle thing. Some didn't take the chance to get her pov and it was strategic. Michelle could've pulled it off had she approached others and had Miriam kept quiet.
GREG: Who was the better cook, Rick or Kelley?
JON: I was the best cook!
GREG: What do you think was the biggest twist in the game?
JON: Well there wasn't really any twists. I did like the randomness of the rewards though!
GREG: Do you think being in Paleo Pride had saved you?
JON: Paleo Pride definitely saved me. The first two weeks of the merge, I played the quiet person. Then when it came down to Janei and Miriam, I started opening up more. If Staton, Miriam and Janei were spared, I would've been one of the first members of the jury.
GREG: What are you going to do now that you've won the title of Sole Survivor?
JON: I'm gonna continue playing games!
GREG: Thank you for your time, Jon. And congratulations once more on your win. Well deserved.
JON: Thank-you!
