Life is a winding road that no one can see through to predict their future. It becomes worse if you try to control your life and then things become more messed up. There are some people who take life as it is and play along with its path. I am...or was that kind of carefree person until I got married.

Marriage to me is a union of two people in which both people become each other's support system. To make it technical, marriage is a bilateral agreement or also a contract. But what happens when one party decides to go against the contract? Well, here is where you have a breach of contract and this is my story.

It's time I tell you my story and I like to drive in my car to feel somewhat comfortable while telling you my narrative.

My name is Rachel Smith. I was married for eight years to Ritchie. When I was little I toyed with the idea of marriage and used to poke fun at the idea with my best friend Daisy Gatz. We grew up together and went to college together. The only thing we didn't do together was getting married on the same day with someone we both might have loved. I finished college and got married to Ritchie. Daisy was always skeptical about my decision of marriage over a career. She was upset for a while with me but I didn't care because I was head over heels in love with Ritchie. The things that made me crazy for Ritchie was how honest he was about everything.

After I got married, I didn't hear from Daisy until two years ago. I would get occasional emails from her but phone calls were a rarity. I thought she was trying to get back in contact but she had other plans.

Daisy was a very good pianist. She majored in music and ended up working as a lyricist and in music production for many artists. Daisy then told me she was being transferred to Cherrytown, Sim Jersey to lead Island Records in a position of chief executive officer. "I can't wait to see you after so many years, Rachel," she said. "I was wondering if I could stay with you guys for a month because the company is working on my living arrangements," she asked. "Don't worry, I'll pay rent," she said in a sly tone.

"Yes, you can stay in the extended cabin of our house, Daisy."
At the time, things were not going as great between Ritchie and I financially. We were struggling to pay some bills so a little money could help us a long way. When Ritchie and I first got married, he had this idea that I would not work and only stay at home. Well, it worked for two years until we started arguments over finances. I then told him I was going to apply for a job and he said nothing against it.

The day Daisy came everything changed. It was the first day of autumn and you could smell the crisp air whenever you walked around or went outside. I guess this is where my story gets interesting.

I seemed to be doing all the talking and interrogating Daisy about her life. She would reply with a nod or a hmm but she was distant to me. She finally broke her silence. "How is everything with you, Rachel?"
I gulped. The question seemed so simple but what could I say? "Everything is going well," I replied a bit too hastily. Daisy sensed I wasn't telling the truth so she changed the topic by asking how Ritchie was doing.

"So, Daisy what does Ritchie do for a living?"
"He works at Island Records as a programmer," I replied. I found it awkward of her to ask these questions about Ritchie because she was not only friends with me but also with him. A moment later she justified herself by saying she didn't know about Ritchie's position in the company. Liar...total liar. "Look, Rachel, I just wanted to say sorry about a lot of things that happened in the past." My emotional side started to kick in and I forgave her without thinking about it. The words just tumbled out, "You're forgiven."

After a ton of conversations later, we had dinner. Daisy kept telling me about how important it had become for her to do exceptional on her new post. I had made spaghetti that night and I heard the front door open and then close. Footsteps trailed through the hall as Ritchie said, "Honey, I'm home." Then, I heard him plop himself on a chair in front of the computer. I was really hungry today so I kept eating.

Later on, Ritchie joined us. Daisy and I were deep in our conversation and food. Finally, I said, "Ritchie if you want spaghetti it's in the fridge." "I ate," he replied.

Daisy had finished eating and put her plate in the dishwasher. She came back and confronted Ritchie as he started to shift in his spot. "Ritchie, gosh it has been so long since I have seen you." "You know I'm chief executive officer of your branch of Island Records so I was wondering if we could carpool to work." "That sounds great," replied Ritchie. I just played around with my spaghetti by twirling it with my fork. Ritchie then started to get up from his seat and said,"Rachel, I have to attend my hair cutting appointment so I'll be back in forty-five minutes." I nodded and he left.

I finished dinner as Daisy looked around the living room. When I entered the room, she started walking towards me. "Daisy, you must be tired so if you want to change into something more comfortable you can do it in your room." "I'll take you there but I called Ritchie to make a spare key for that room so you can enter and leave the room as you please and have your own keys." I lead her to her room and then said, "It's getting late...so good night." "Good night Rachel," she responded. I headed towards the door back to my bedroom.

This is where I didn't suspect anything unusual. I headed to sleep and to tell you what happened that night without my presence is Daisy's point of view.

Daisy's Point of View

I paced around the room thinking about today. There were so many things that I wanted to tell Daisy but I couldn't tell her the truth. My thoughts were interrupted when I heard the front door open, which released a chilly draft into my room. I looked up to find Ritchie as he walked closer and closer to me. "Daisy, here is the key to your room," he said in a low voice. I stared at him and he locked his eyes on mine.

When he started to turn his head away I felt disappointed and angry at him. I put my hand on his chin and made him face me forcefully. I pulled my body close to his and gave him a fierce kiss. He didn't complain. I had waited too long to do this and I wanted him to myself for now. Ritchie responded by kissing me back passionately.

Part Two will come soon...for comments post it on my guestbook.
