Mommy is many things in the community, but we think her favorite is her being a police reservist. She goes through withdrawls on the weekends that she isn't out protecting and serving. Mom has been involved in many different things, but is trying to scale back. Her past involvements have included Neighborhood Watch Founder, Community Ed Advisory Council, Depot Restoration Society, Jaycee's, Touism and Visitors Board of Directors, Website Design committee, Sunday School Teacher, and many other things we are sure to forget to mention. Her most recent accomplishment is becoming vice-chair of Community Ed Council.
Mommy also has a profession...and owns her own business. She is a cosmetologist by trade. Every now and then she is out and about taking classes to keep up on the latest trend with that. We love the samples she brings home. Recently she was toying with the idea on becoming a Regional Performing Artist with Redken, but that will have to wait until us street urchins are a bit older.
Our mommy has also busted her hind end and got back into shape. She has found some weird sense of enjoyment in running...and says it is a great way to relieve stress, and to clear her head. Stress? Now why would she have stress?
Mommy also finds time to read, write (and one day hopes to be published), loves to take pictures if you couldn't tell, and anything that has to do with us kids. She says she is still a kid! If you see mommy out and about, she usually has at least one of us in tow.
We love our mommy and all she does for us and our community!!!
I am not afraid of falling, only afraid of no one to be there to help me get back up and climb again. And the only failure I fear is the failure to try.
Dreams are about the only thing we have left that are ours, and no one can take them from us. It is when we set out to make those dreams a reality is where people differentiate. It is scary to think of someone else taking that dream from you. I don't see it as that. It is mine, and to make it real, I need to share it!"
