Advice:
DO NOT GIVE UP!!  If you see the scale moving downward, it is a good thing, no matter  how long it takes or how hard it seems.  As long as you are losing either pounds, inches, or both, you are making progress!  I myself am a slow loser. but I know if I gave up now it would all come back.  So the key is to be patient, research, and read and ask as many questions as you can!  And DON'T cheat!  But if you do, always know you can get right back on plan and jump the hurdle!  :)

Current Level: OWL   Weight Stats: 222/185/135
Hometown: Originally Pebble Beach, CA...now Washington State
Hobbies: Travelling, Reading, Theatre, Volunteerism, Asian Art and Antiques
Latest News: I am going back to school to get my Master's degree.  I was inspired by our own Miss Dysfunctional!

Advice:  I think that whatever program you do, it is really important to really understand what you are doing by reading as much as possible to give yourself a strong background.  Then, build on that with support and help from the group.  Use the group as much as you need for support, clarification, encouragement, check ins, etc.  Drink water!!  Use fitday.  It really helps me to write down daily meal plans when I am feeling "slippery."  Ask for help from the group, family and friends.  Acknowledge your successes and reward yourself for milestones (not with food).  Last, one day at a time!!

Current Level: OWL/Induction   Weight Stats: 204.5/176/150
Occupation: Accountant
Hometown: Toledo, Ohio, USA
Hobbies: Reading, Scrapbooking, Rubber Stamping, other Crafts, Puzzles, Games, PC   Latest News: Currently in the beginning stages of divorce after 13 years of marriage.  Husband left me for a young gal.  But this only motivates me to become the best I can be and to do it for myself.  And he will just have to live with the fact that he won't get to enjoy the end result!!!!

Advice:  When you feel like getting off the program, just stick it out.  If you mess up, don't wait and say "well I will just restart next week," get back on board immediately.  You will thank yourself for it later.

Vital Statistics:

Sex: Female   Age: 28    Height: 5' 5.5"
Weight Stats:150/120/120 (Goal Acheived 7-28-03)    Hometown: Kansas City
Occupation: Full time mom to two small children, church's children's director
Exercise of Choice: Winsor Pilates

Advice:
1.  If at all possible, make this a family lifestyle.  My dh is  thin but does this WOE to keep his weight under control and keep his energy up and appetite down.  It is so much easier to do this together.
2.  Beware of "low-carb products" if they stall you.  I save these for mini-rewards and special treats.  They are also expensive.
3.  Exercise - I only do it 20 minutes 3x per week at the most, but it is amazing how toning can make you look so much smaller, especially around the rear and thighs
4.  Don't stress when the scale bounces around or even stops moving for a long time - that's part of this WOE and a whoosh may be just around the corner!  Don't read too much into a temporary stall or gain - don't automatically assume it was something you ate that caused a problem unless you see a pattern over time.
5.  Watch overall food consumption, especially as you near goal.  I do not count every calorie, but I know if I binge on even legal things I do not lose as well.
6.  Don't cheat!  No explanation necessary.

Happy low-carbing!
